How to convert a DOI to APA
The DOI is the string starting 10. that identifies a paper. You will find it on the article’s landing page, on the first page of the PDF, usually in the header or footer, and in the “Cite” panel of most publisher sites. Any of these forms work:

To convert a DOI to APA in bulk, paste one per line, up to fifty at a time. For a whole reference page, sorted alphabetically with same-year suffixes resolved across the set, use the APA reference list generator instead, which is the same lookup with the list as its output.
One thing to check after converting. APA puts article titles in sentence case, so a title that the publisher deposited in title case gets lowercased. That is correct, except for proper nouns, which no tool can pick out of metadata reliably. Scan the title and re-capitalise names and terms like “English” or “Bayesian” by hand.

Three usual causes. A typo, most often a missing character at the end from a bad copy out of a PDF. A DOI that is registered but has no metadata deposited, which happens with some small publishers and older papers. Or a DOI from a registration agency other than CrossRef, such as DataCite, which handles many datasets. The tool will tell you which of these it hit rather than returning a blank.
