How to convert a DOI to MLA
The DOI is the string starting 10. on the article page or in the PDF header. Paste it bare, or as a full https://doi.org/... link, either works.

Two details in there are correct and get “corrected” by hand a lot.
The page range is shortened. MLA elides the second number when both have three or more digits and share leading digits, so 255 to 260 is 255-60. It looks like a typo. It is not.
There is a period after the URL. MLA closes a works cited entry with a full stop even when the last element is a link. It looks like a stray character and it belongs there.
MLA also prefers the DOI over a plain URL when a source has one, which is why the entry ends with the doi.org link rather than the publisher’s page address.
If the DOI does not resolve, it is usually truncated from a bad copy out of a PDF, or registered with an agency other than CrossRef such as DataCite. The tool names which case it hit rather than failing silently.
